Dear lybrate-user, taking medicines for the long term and no improvement needs a review of diagnosis. Now that we know her counts reduced. We need to know why it is reduced. If it is drug-induced, it will recover after stopping the drug. Bone marrow test will not show that it is drug-induced. But the report will show the type of count reduction, like neutropenia. Except for clozapine, other psychiatric drugs (mirtaz, qutipin and tofisopam) rarely cause low blood count. In clozapine, the psychiatrist generally does blood count as a routine to prevent it happening. I would like the review of diagnosis, if confirmed, there are many antidepressants available apart from prothiaden.
