I am 23 year old female unmarried woman. I am suffering from pcos/pcod from past 6 years. I tried all kind of medicine homeopathy, ayurveda etc. Currently my doctor suggested to take regestrone tablet past 2 years. I have increased 10 kgs and my current weight is 65 kgs. Please suggest me.

Hi, regesterone is a progesterone tablet which can cause weight gain. Weight loss of around 10% of your current body weight through diet control and regular sweat inducing exercises 3-4 times a week should help to make the periods more regular. You can take the oral contraceptive pill Yasmin from the third day of your periods for 3 cycles- the menses often become regular on stopping.
