I get migraines with aura from time to time. I use fake tan (active ingredient: dha) and wonder whether I can continue using it: I came to find out that l-tyrosine and l-arginine are under suspicion to cause migraine. Those ingredients apparently are in some fake tans to accelerate tan. They increase the release of melanin in the skin, so the skin appears darker. My question now is whether I can continue using my fake tan, which only contains dha. I learned that this active ingredient reacts with amino acids in the dead layer of the skin. Does dha also produce extra melanin by adding high doses of tyrosine? Does it somehow release arginine or tyrosine? In that case, I would obviously not use fake tan again due to the potential harm. Thank you so very much, I appreciate your time.
