Dear Sumit, Lorazepam is used initially to control withdrawal symptoms of alcohol. It is tapered off within 2-3 weeks depending on the withdrawal symptoms. Nobody continues it for 2 years. Probably you are taking it by yourself. Luckily you have not increased from 2 mg. Please take MET, motivational enhancement therapy weekly for 12 weeks to withdraw yourself off lorazepam. Please don't withdraw suddenly and fully like alcohol. Gradually over several weeks, reduce and stop. All under supervision of the doctor.
