Hello doctor, I am 28w 3d pregnant. I have done growth scan today baby weight is 1150 gms and placenta with maturity 0. In my 19 weeks pregnancy report placenta has maturity grade 1. Placenta maturity grade has been decreased from 1 to 0. Is it possible? I heard that maturity grade should be 1 at 28 weeks .what does it mean? Is there any complications with placenta or baby weight?

The anterior placenta would be fine, nothing to worry. Grade 2 ? (marginal) the placenta reaches the cervix but doesn't cover it. Grade 3 ? (major) the placenta partially covers the cervix. This means that your placenta is still working well. In your case, your placenta is in the normal stage and it is an improvement of grading coming to 0 from 1 is better for your child.
