If I am taking my isoniazid tablet in daily basis, (single isoniazid only as a preventative measure by my hiv doc) and irregularly taking vitamin b6 tablet. Is it going cause drug resistance? Any other side effects? It's very difficult to take 1st isoniazid then after half hour vitamin b6 then in night art medicine on time. But I have not skipped any dose of isoniazid and art. My only concern is regarding vitamin b6 irregular consumption. Thanks. And I have started taking isoniazid plus vitamin b6 from last one month.

Hello. You are rightly given ipt along with pyridoxine as per rntcp guidelines. Pyridoxine (vit b6) is given to prevent one side effect of isoniazid. Ie peripheral neuropathy. It has no role in the development of drug resistance to inh. So please take pyridoxine regularly and you can take it at any time of the day if you have a problem to take with other meds. Thanks.

There is no apparent harm if you skip b6. Don't worry. Be regular with art and inh.
