Hello doctors, I have completed my xdr tuberculosis treatment this month after successful culture conversion. My sputum culture was negative since last 22 months. I have below problems present 1. Huge mucus production in my both lungs. 2. My skin got black after talking clofazimine. 3. Numbness in both legs. 4. Shortness of breath. Unable to walk 10 steps. Please advise what can I do to cure my problems. Any medicine do I have to take?

Shortness of breath can be due to post tb lung fibrosis and numbness due to peripheral neuropathy. Caused due to tb drugs. Can take b6 and b12 to reduc eit. Mucus production can also b edue to post tb bronciactasis and fibrosis. Get culture sputum for pyogenic infection and treat accordingly.

1) excess mucous production may be because of post tb fibrocystic lesions. Physiotherapy, bronchodilators will work. Do pft. 2) skin colour will return to normal slowly once you stop clofazimine 3) numbness in both legs may be because of neuropathy. Do emg ncv. Take multivitamins, pyridoxine 200 mg once daily. Tab dubinor once daily only after consulting neurologist. 4) shortness of breath may be because of weakness or post tb oad. Multivitamins, bronchosdilators and good appetite.
