I am pregnant for 9th month my doctor has prescribed capsule neogest. Progesterone 100 mg. I would like to know if it is safe and why has it been prescribed me for? Please reply soon.

Hello. Progesterone is safe though the role of progesterone tablets at 9 months of pregnancy is very limited. May be your prescribed the tablets because your uterus was hard and irritable.

Neogest 200 mg capsule is a progesterone (female hormone). It helps to establish and maintain pregnancy. It also prevents the increase in thickness of the endometrium (lining of the uterus) caused by estrogen.
