I am 17 weeks 4 days pregnant. Medicines prescribed by doctor are folgel plus, feriumxt, duvadilan retard 40 mg, susten sr 300. Just wanted to know whether system sr 300 is safe to consume now, as once doctor had prescribed susten 200 when I had missed my periods. After consuming susten 200 I had regularise my period. Please help whether susten sr 300 is safe to consume at this time of pregnancy.

Susten sr is safe in pregnancy. But if you don't have any vaginal bleeding, low lying placenta or abdominal pain then susten as well as duvadilon not required.

Hello.. Very frankly at 17 weeks of pregnancy apart from iron and calcium, nothing is required.. There is no role of duvadilan , it’s better to be avoided.. Susten is often prescribed upto 12 weeks of pregnancy till placenta develops completely to decrease the risk of miscarriage.. However in cases which are at risk of preterm labour, progesterone ( susten) is often continued throughout pregnancy..
