No, you should not have done that. Only if you feel symptoms of low sugars (tremors, uneasiness, sweating, hunger) then you should have some sugar. If you have a glucometer, check sugar levels before having sugar, to avoid unnecessarily high sugars. For the first instance, it's ok. Nothing to worry about.
