My mother is 66 years old. For the past week, clear water like discharge is coming from her left ear. The doc diagnosed a ruptured eardrum n mucus in-ear. Prescribed antibiotics for 10 days. She is on antibiotic switch cv twice a day. But the problem with her ear persists and now the discharge is mildly brown coloured. I am really worried.

Please don't worry, you have already begun with antibiotic. Use ear drops as well and she need s to have fee precautions as well with diet and lifestyle as well. Yes that's a ruptured - ear drum but please don't worry about it. If you can give me a detailed history working on this would be easier. Meanwhile ask her to avoid all cold and sour food items.
