Hi lybrate-user, please watch your mood very closely, the likelihood of relapse is high when you don't take medicines. Please routinely follow up with your doctor so that medicines can be managed without major interruptions to your life. Don does not take decisions on medicines without consulting your psychiatrist.

Dear lybrate-user, Please follow your psychiatrist's advice. Even if you have stopped and felt fine, consult the psychiatrist. She/he will advise properly knowing how often you have a relapse, how long the relapses last and how severe the symptoms are, etc. Without those details, it is difficult for me to advice.

We understand that you have been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and it is not unusual that people with this problem take medications for a very long time, probably for a lifetime. However, like your psychiatrist has rightly advised you might want to decrease the dose to find out how you function on a daily basis while being on the lower dose before going further. The medications that you mention are the usual medications that are used in schizoaffective disorder. Look forward to hearing from you.
