I have an insect bite which looks just like a love bite, it's dark purple and the blood has clot under my skin. The bite itself is like a mosquito bite but the skin isn't raised. It's about the size of a small coin and there are two similar smaller bites near it. I've had the bite for two days. What is it and do I have reason to worry?

When an insect bites, it releases saliva that can cause the skin around the bite to become red, swollen and itchy. The venom from a sting often also causes a swollen, itchy, red mark (a weal) to form on the skin. The affected area will usually remain painful and itchy for a few days. Let?s discuss your concern in detail so that we can provide you with the best medical plan.
