My father had a prostate surgery (turp, bipolar) in june 2018 as he was unable to pass urine. He had no symptoms before this date. At that time he had a prostate measuring 86 ml with pvru 250 ml. His psa was 5.59 ng/ml and his biopsy was clean (bhp with mild prostate). In february 2019 after 7 months of surgery he had an ultrasound which suggested a prostate measuring 39. 36 ml with pvru 14.59 ml. The doctor advised dutas for 6 months. His latest ultrasound suggests a prostate measuring 53gms with pvru 15 ml. He does not have any other symptoms, no problem with passing urine. Dose regrowth happen after surgery in normal (benign) condition? Is another surgery the only option?

yes. prostate can regrow after surgery. because , in prostate surgery, we don't remove the whole gland as it is not possible. only the passage through the prostate is made wider for good flow of urine, which can be narrower with time.
