My baby is five months old and she is suffering with motion for about 17 days. So that doctor suggested to do stool routine examination and reducing sugar test. He suggested it is lactose intolerance and gave easyfud and also zerolac for one week to use and said to use lactogen after all these. Can I feed my baby with breast milk or not. If not after how many days can I give.

Hello, thanks for the query. Lactose intolerance may develop in infants following a viral gastrointestinal infection (viral diarrhea). Invariably it is a temporary condition. May remain for a few days to weeks. Later the condition improves as intestinal cells recover and lactase enzyme is again available to digest lactose present in the milk. You may have to give the product suggested for a few days to some weeks. Then breast milk can be restarted. Your local pediatrician will definitely be help in this regard. Thanks.
