Hello, I am elisa from georgia (tbilisi). Last year in october I was diagnosed the vertebra-basilar arterial syndrome (without any ct, mri or mra). She prescribed some benzodiazepines, antidepressants, etc. I've administered them for 9-10 months, until the vertigo completely stopped. But 1 week ago it came back again. I would like to ask you if my treatment was correct and if it is possible to diagnose the mentioned diagnose without imaging examinations? And which specialist shall I refer to with my issue? Thank you very much in advance for your help! kind regards, elisa.

Without brain imaging investigations diagnosis of vertebro-basilar artery syndrome or vbi is very difficult. Also benzodiazepines and anti-depressants will never improve symptoms if they are due to vbi. You should consult a neurophysician for this problem. Thanks.
