Sir I am taking anti tuberculosis medicines which have increased uric acid level to 10. Which is causing severe pain in my joints. When I consulted doctor handling my tuberculosis case she advised me to take febutaz 40 mg medicine to reduce uric acid level. But after 10 days of treatment I have got no relief. Should I eat febutaz of 80 mg now or to change the medicine? Doctor has advised me to take 40 mg capsule.

You can continue medicine same dose. Recheck blood uric acid after 14 days. If it is still high, you can take double dose of medicine!

1) you can continue same dose of antituberculous treatment but if joint pain is severe you can take tab ibuprofen 200 mg sos (if you do not have any history of side effects to nsaids). 2) if still its not relived, taper dose of tab pyrazinamide.
