I have got my test of x ray and ct scan. Doctor reported that you have mild pleural effusion seen on left side of the lung with basal consolidation .and he is giving me tb treatment rifampin, ethambutol, pyrizimide, isoniazid etc. He said there is pus and can not be taken out from the needle ,so please tell me do I have tb?

Pus in most cases need to be removed and sent for testing to confirm diagnosis.

Get a usg chest done to quantify effusion. If no sample available then bronchoscopy is advised to obtain a sample. Till then please continue the above treatment as advised by the chest physician.

I will suggest you to do usg chest and bronchoscopy! tb may be a possibility. But diagnosis is not so easy. When nothing is detected, treatment is based on clinical findings!

You might need chest tube to be inserted in chest to drain out pus.medicines will work
