I am 34 years old if anyone has given me half tablet of dizone, & I am not feeling well what should I do. One of my doctor suggested me to take avil tablet. With in one hour you feel better & you can also take alcohol after an hour, if you want to drink, is it right.

Dear Deepak, If someone has given dizone to you, it means that she/he is a well wisher of you. She/he does not want you to drink and spoil your health at this young age of 34 years. You will not feel well ONLY IF YOU DRINK along with dizone. If you take only dizone and don't drink, you will be well forever. Any number of days, months and years dizone will not cause any illness without alcohol in any form. Okay, alcohol disulfiram reaction can be stopped by vomiting the alcohol out. Or you can take vitamin c 500 mg preferably injection or tablets. You can try avil injection also. Otherwise also alcohol will go out from your body if you sleep off for 2-3 hours. You will feel drowsy also as a part of this reaction. Don't try alcohol after you wake up. Dizone takes at least 7-8 days to go out of your body. If your liver is not functioning properly (high GGT, SGOT,SGPT in blood), try alcohol after 2-3 weeks - not earlier.
