I am a diabetic since 5 years now of age 42. Athletic body and very active. Use medicines for diabetic. I have frequent cracks on skin of my penis and painful. It gets normal after 2 days. When ever it is crack skin is cut at edges and when I apply cetaphil it gets normal. What medicine should I use.

Mr Uday, Thanks for the query. In a person with diabetes fungal infections of the foreskin of penis are quite common. This happens particularly if blood glucose is not well controlled. Since there is no mention of your fasting, PP glucose levels and HbA1c% as well as treatment, there is no way to know the situation. It is very essential to control glucose very strictly. Fasting glucose should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8%. With this fungal infections can be well controlled. Plus there is a need to use anti-fungal drugs both systemic and topical. Thanks.
