I am 28 year old ,and 14 weeks pregnant. My tsh value is 5.60 ,and I am taking tb thyrox 75 mcg /od. Will hypothyroidism during pregnancy affect the growing fetus.

yes.....the dose of thyrox...you have to increased according to body weight to lower the TSH level up to 3....

Hello.. Don’t worry, just be on regular follow up , aim should be to keep TSH preferably below 3 .. You need to increase the dose of thyrox .. There is little risk of hypertension, IUGR and preterm labour but generally these complications doesn’t arise if hypothyroidism is treated and patient is followed up regularly..
