My husband went to the er last night cuz his leg was very swollen and badly hurting. The Dr. sent my husband for an ultrasound. They brought him back into the room and we waited for an hour and a half for results. The Dr. finally came back and opened the door stating blood clot. He prescribed my husband with apixaban and sent home. Told him to take tylenol for the pain. He is still in severe pain and swelling hasn't gotten down. What should we do?

It looks like dvt (deep vein thrombosis as per your history). This is a serious issue and initially should be managed with heparin. He will need further work up for the cause of dvt. You should not ignore this and consult a hematologist or a physician immediately as it can sometimes be life threatening. If you are somewhere in haridwar area then you can come to my hospital otherwise you should take him to a hospital and probably he will require five days of hospital stay.
