Myself sweta aged 24 carrying a 31 week foetus. My blood test report showed high tsh-4.7 in sep 19.(2nd trimester). However, it was overlooked by my doctor. Just last week he noticed tsh-7 and advised eltroxin 50 mg daily. This is my first issue and I am worried if it will affect my baby health. Please suggest me dos and don'ts in food habit to control my thyroid levels.

Hello, Thanks for the query. I am sure you must be aware that all through out the gestation period TSH should be maintained around 2 mU/L. However, since you did not start the treatment early, it is difficult to say exactly what may be the impact. However, from now on please check TSH evey 4 weeks and see that it is maintained around 2 mU/L/ Then let us hope there will no problem with the fetus and also delivery. After the delivery you should get the baby's Thyroid function tested after 4 to 5 days. Also get your TSH checked after 6 weeks of delivery. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
