Hi, I am a perfectly healthy 36 year old female. I have never ever suffered from any substance addiction. I have never taken drugs! two years ago I was going through a terrible divorce and I started drinking pretty heavily. I was not feeling well one evening and I ended up having something called a alcohol withdrawal seizure. I have never even heard of such a thing and then I had never had any substance issue in my life. Since that evening I never drink again I never required treatment or anything of the sort because I had never had an addiction I have not drank since that awful evening! I was told if I ever has as much as a drink again this could happen again because my brain would remember. I'm wondering is this true? Can I never have a glass of wine with dinner? Or champagne at a wedding because of that one time in my life?
