I am 19 year old male so recently I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder bipolar type my doctor prescribed me lithium, amisulpride, risperidone, clomipramine but there is no improvement my question is taking antidepressant like clomipramine is safe or not? Generally how long does it take for schizoaffective patients to recover?

Clomipramine is antidepressant it to be given maximum 300 mg. It has got side effect like dry mouth ,constipation blurred vision etc (anticholinergic s/e).if you you feel so you can ask your doctor to switch medicine to sssri like escitalopram/ sertaline etc. It s to be taken 4 to 6 month may be longer. Depend on individual symptoms.
