Hello I was diagnosed with hypertension and tachycardia hear was 108 in ecg but I never felt any palpitation before that the bp was diagnosed in random checking my age is 26 recently I hve been suffering from erection and low libido issue I was prescribed seloken xl 25 then after facing side effects my gp changed it to cardivas 6.25? 1.is cardivas 6.25 lower dose than seloken xl 25? 2.i heard beta blocker cause sexual dysfunction, can I change beta blocker to some other bp medicine, bcoz I feel tachycardia in ecg was just due to anxiety I felt at that time. please help.

Dear Aasim, I understand your comcers, if you feel that hypertension was diagnosed too early, please address your concerns with the treating doctor. He has the most information about this to explain it to you. Monitoring your BP regularly will provide us with an answer for that. Erectile dysfunction with cardivas is not very common. But there are several other treatments available for both anxiety and/or hypertension (if you have it). Please discuss your concerns in detail with your prescribing doctor. Monitor your bp at times when you are not anxious. If it continues to be high, you may need life style modification plus- minus antihypertensive. Assessment of anxiety and it's management is separate issue.

Do some breathing exercises and stay calm and follow a healthy routine. Consult a psychologist for counselling time to time.
