1.my son who is 25 takes a vit. B12 supplement "cobadex- czs" once daily prescribed by our physician. It has folic acid 1500 mcg. 2.actually he has issue of depression as well and takes antidepressants and to augment the effect of treatment his psychiatrist recently added l-methylfolate 7.5 mg at night. 3. Thus can he take both supplements that are cobadex-czs and mythelfolate 7.5 mg concomitantly? Or his cobadex is sufficient as it has folic acid? Thank you.

Few things need clarification. This 25 years old man, has it been diagnosed as a case of depression? What is the anti depressant he is taking? Methyl fol ate is supportive in treating depression, but that alone is not the treatment. First he need to be investigated, only after looking at his blood reports one will be able to suggest the need for supportive vitamins. 25 years old man ,if he is taking adequate food and doing moderate exercise ,augmentation with vitamin may not be of benefit treating depression suggest consultation.

If he is taking both these suppliments as augmentation to antidepressant, he needs only one of these but at same time we have to see whether he has been properly put on antidepressants and rationalization ot his treatment.
