I have been prescribed pyzina 1000 along with wysolone 40 as Dr. was not distinguish between tb and sarcoidosis. After a month of medication uric acid test shows 13.55 which is very high. Now Dr. wants pyzina 1000 to be discontinued and advised to take disprin 325 thrice a day with milk. Is it advisable to discontinue pyzina midway and start disprin.

TB can never be treated with pyzina and prednisolone alone. The diagnosis should be established by histopathological examination (biopsy). If it is determined as TB, then full-fledged antitubercular drugs should be prescribed. If it is diagnosed as sarcoidosis, the first treatment is prednisolone and if the response is not adequate, then various chemotherapeutic drugs should be added.
