My baby girl is just 25 days old, born in last week of march 2020. She has watery eyes. We gave toba eye drops (tobramycin opthalmic sulfate solution) 3 times a day for 5-7 days, but didn't notice much improvement. No such swelling or red-color observed in her eyes. Just watery. Is milflox suitable for her and can we discontinue toba eye drops. Please advise.

Hi lybrate-user, usually in newborn or early infancy watery discharge is due to lacrimal duct blockage so it required lacrimal massage to releive it. Do not use eye drops as it is not useful. You can lean lacrimal massage over youtube video. Thank you.

Hello. Your baby will require something called nasolacrimal massage. Wash your hands with soap and water, air dry your hands, then gently massage the inner side of eye towards the nose. No other medications required. Toba may be discontinued.
