I'm having vaginal fungal infections for almost year. Tried candid powder, luliconazole for a long time. But there is no improvement. Recently I had very unbearable itching and burning sensation, couldn't even sleep well. Then I got micogel f (miconazole nitrate 2% + fluocinolone acetonide 0.1%)from a nearby pharmacy. Im using it now for two weeks, the symptoms is almost gone. But I have a doubt whether is it causes any side effects and how long should it be used so that the infection won't reoccur again. Kindly advice me on the usage of this ointment.

Micogel F Ointment is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands. If it gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina rinse with water.

There are .many causes of infection and the ointment which you are using is very effective. Since it contains steroid, it has suppressed the itching. You should discontinue it now. Two weeks of ointment use is more than enough. I feel you need some medicines for a lasting cure. Otherwise the symptoms will recur. For more information please contact me.

Better to stop now since you are feeling better. Take course of probiotics which will help bringing back normal vaginal flora and prevent recurrence.

Do NOT worry. Your symptoms improved. However, there is small chance of recurrence. Maintain hygiene. Use clean cotton undergarment. Do NOT use ordinary soaps in private areas.
