Alcohol dependence is a chronic physical and mental health condition, that requires prolonged course of treatment, that includes both pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Initial steps include detoxification that has to be done under supervision of a psychiatrist. Dexona tablet is a steroid with no use in the present situation. It's preferable to consult a psychiatrist in person. As detoxification drugs is difficult to find from outside pharmacies.

No, please do not medicate anyone without doctor's consultation and prescription. The doctor will study the extent of the alcoholism, his age, his medical condition, any health abnormalities, and other factors influencing his situation. If you are so determined, then with your consent he can be taken to a rehabilitation center whenever he is drunk and admitted by force. The center has facilities to bring a group of medical staff to handle the situation safely. You can even threaten your husband with this action and if you are lucky he may choose to go there himself.

Dear madam daily drinking may amount to addiction, and if so it will worsen his physical condition for which he is taking medicine. On other hand medicine also doesn't work if alcohol is taken daily. What I feel is he should also be treated for addiction by a psychiatrist. However, you can give dexona even if he drinks, but how much it will be effective, I am not sure of. Also I am not sure why he was prescribed dexona. If for physical, problem than immediately he should stop drinking.

Dexona & alcohol are harmful combinations and should not be given. Assuming that dexona was prescribed to him for a medical condition, he would need it. But, he should not take the medicine with/after/before alcohol. He would probably need alcohol de-addiction as early as possible. Please consult a psychiatrist. Also, please consult with the doctor who prescribed dexona regarding the alcohol-consumption issue.
