Hello the first step to discontinue is to have a strong will power. However simply that does not help because of alprax's strong dependency tendency. It is ideal you consult a psychiatrist who will assess which is the best alternative (for a short while taken under the care of the doctor and then slowly tapered off). Also if the alprax is mainly for sleep then you may consider starting to work on some natural methods for sleep like sleep hygiene. All the best. Be strong.

When you'd try to discontinue, most often there are some unpleasant symptoms like insomnia or irritability. You will be needing some other medications which are not/less addictive in nature to relieve these symptoms for some time. Please consult with a psychiatrist for evaluation and management.
