I am 24 years male. About 2 months ago I faced this frequent urination problem mostly at night. The doctor gave me some medications, silodosin and nitrofurantoin. After taking the dosage for 2 days I got the usg done which showed normal size of the prostrate. I want to know could it still be the benign prostrate enlargement since I took the medicine for 2 days prior to usg. Would silodosin have affected the reliability of the usg test. Thanks.

Its not prostate enlargement. Ther can be infection of prostate i.e. Prostatitis. Just take tamasulosin 0.4 mg once daily for 15 days n nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice for 10 days. N then he your urine test and uroflowmetry sone.

Only silodosin can not change the size of prostate. It just relax sphincter for good flow of urine. U need to do uroflowmetry test and bladder diary documentation for 3 days before proper diagnosis. Bph is very less likely at 24.
