Hello, I am 27 weeks pregnant. I have negative blood group and my husband is having positive. I did ict test in my first trimester, it came out negative. So, is it mandatory to take anti-d vaccine at 28 weeks?

The fact that ict was negative means that there is no isoimmunisation and hence it makes sense to take antid at 28 wks.

Taking anti d at 28 weeks is recommended. But in government set up we do not give it routinely at 28 weeks as many patients will not be affordable. Though we give anti d within 72 hours after birth mandatorily. Anti d at 28 weeks offers better protection against sensitization to rh antigens. But when it is not possible to get it done, anti d within 72 hours of birth should be sufficient.
