I'm 20 years old and I have pcod. For the past 3 years, i've been taking krimson 35 and my periods are regular because of that. But for the past 3 months, i've been getting breakthrough bleeding in the middle of the cycle. It's like white vaginal discharge tinged with red or sometimes pink or brown. The first time it happened (in january) it was spotting and it occurred on the day I took my last pill. My gynaecologist gave me krimson since my my ovaries were a bit larger than normal. I've been taking krimson for almo3 years. So would it be okay to stop it and only continue taking normoz as a supplement (which is also prescribed by my gynaecologist)? I want to know if stopping krimson would be safe considering the fact that my ovaries were bulky and periods were irregular. I'm also worried that if I stop taking krimson I might start having ovarian cysts again. I didn't have breakthrough bleeding previously. Why is it happening and how do I stop it?

you have PCOS and that's why the ovaries are "large". Please remember, it's hormonal problem and it cannot be cured but can be kept under control. The main way to control it is to keep your weight normal. If there is no problem with krimson and you are not planning for pregnancy, you should continue it.

Regards lybrate-user! intermensteual bleeding or spotting while on any kind of cycle regulating pills (in your case krimson) occur mostly due to two reasons 1) forgotten pill or taking pill at irregular interval. 2) the dose of pill may be lesser than what it should be. Okay. Now spitting in the middle of the cyle is only once and in insignificant amount is normal, it occurs during the ovulation process. So if this isthe case you need not to worry. In pcod it a classical presentation to have irregular cycle and for that you should not to take pills for a very long time unless you are preventing the pregnancy. Pills in pcod should be used as and when required. As if you take pills for six months and you stop next periods are likely to be irregular. Pills are not cure, understand this. Reduce weight, reduce stress and healthy diet is rather more effective in long terms. Pills are temporary and short lasting solution. Yes you can stop those pills and can start the other pills that you mentioned. And don't worry if cycles are little irregular. Hope this helped.

You should not take krimson for the long time. Medicine to be changed time to time. Regular exercise and proper diet is basic thing .take normoz for 6 months and see result.

Hi, Lybrate user, you are 20 years old too young to play up with your menstrual cycles. Now you should get your complete gynaec evaluation, blood tests, usg, and then take medicines after your diagnosis. You can even consult me online.
