I am at 8th month of pregnancy and history of thyroid, it was controlled till 7th month now its increasing to 6.5 tsh ,i was taking 50 mg of thyronorm ,please advice shud I take now 100 mg to reduce tsh value ,doctor also suggests to increase mg for thyronorm medicine. Also.i had been diagnose with gestational diabetes and getting treated for the same with insulin injections now.

Yes increase dose to 75 mcg more you can discuss on line. I can guide both in gdm and hypothyroidism.

Hello, thanks for the query. Since you are in pregnancy (2nd trimester) tsh has to be maintained around 2 mu/l hence dosage of levothyroxine has to be increased from 50 mcg to 75 mcg per day. Then check tsh after 4 weeks. Please remember through out the 9 months tsh has to be maintained around 2 mu/l keep checking tsh every 4 weeks. Plus please see that blood glucose is also well controlled. Thanks.
