Hello doctor. I've been suffering from pain in my right ear for 3 weeks. I've taken amoxicillin & azithromycin and also used an antifungal ear drop (glybiotic). After completion of the antibiotic course the pain stopped. But after a week the pain came back. Since 7-8 days the pain is coming back & again going away. The pain is not much intense but the intensity increases specially at night. What medicines should I take? Please help!

There must be some fungal collection in your ear canal which should be cleaned by ent surgeon. So for further treatment you should consult ent doctor without trying more antibiotics.

Pain could be due several reasons. It could be due to impacted wax or infections. I would suggest you to consult a ent. If it's difficult to visit a clinic, pls do online consultation. Also avoid using ear buds or other instruments and avoid wetting the ear. Keep a vaseline petroleum jelly smeared cotton in the ear while taking bath.

Pain specificly increasing during nights means it might be eustacian tube cattarah also use nasal decongestants like xylometazoline 1% nasal drops for 5 days espically during night times, cap karval steam inhalation twice daily, practice valsava exercise daily. Do cosult a ent surgon and r/o other causes, or consult me in online.
