Hello lybrate-user. I think you have developed dependency to tramadol, that's why you are taking larger doses to get relief from your pain. You may be having some withdrawal symptoms while trying to stop consuming the drug. You should consult clinicians and explain your sufferings in a detailed manner. Psychiatric medicines and psychological therapy will definitely help you. Remember you are capable to recover.

Dear lybrate-user, it is nice of you to plan to come out of tramadol addiction. Since it is a steroidal drug it is difficult to stop with withdrawal aches and pains. You can take the help of an addiction psychiatrist or deaddiction centre to manage the withdrawal in first few weeks. You need motivational enhancement therapy weekly for 12 weeks. Later you need to work on relapse prevention. There will be few lapses here and there. But try and make continuous effort to fight against the addiction. It is better and easier now when you are on 5 pills and younger. All the best.

Mr. lybrate-user, tramadol belongs to the opioid group of drugs. In small amount it acts as a pain killer, in higher doses however it has all the actions of other opioids like heroine or morphine. It is not easy to get over these drugs. Apart from self motivation, you need help of a psychiatrist who can prescribe you certain medicines to take care of the withdrawal effects. I will advise you to seek such help.

Tramadol comes in opioid group of drugs. It can be addictive. And if you stop abruptly it may cause withdrawal symptoms like tremors, sweating, bodyache, muscle cramps, vomiting, diarrhoea etc. My advice is you try to reduce the no. Of tablets from 5 to 4 per day. Continue for 5 days. Then reduce to 3 per day for another 5 days. Then 2 per day, then one.in the meantime if you are getting any bodyache then it's better to take painkillers like paracetamol or brufen whenever you feel pain. Drink lots of water and fluids. These withdrawal effects last for few days. Then it will subside. But if it's untolerable then go to hospital immediately.
