My sister (age 38) is taking medicines for schizophrenia for more than 20 years. She is currently taking dicorate, sulpitac, oleanz and fluvoxin two times a day. Her periods were absent for one year. For 10 days she was not able to take fluvoxin because of the unavailability of the medicine. But she got her periods back in the absence of fluvoxin. Shall we stop the fluvoxin? It will give any troubles?

Some psychiatric may cause amenorrhea (absence of periods). You should start the medicine as she was doing well (assuming) with it. For your concern regarding her menstruation, kindly consult a gynecologist - and if everything seems normal, continue the medications.
