I am 41 years unmarried, virgin female with pcos and asthma. Always had regular periods & flow 3-4 days .pcos was detected 4 years ago. So I take metformin 850 twice a day. I continued to have normal flow of 3-4 days. Suddenly last month I had just 1 day heavy flow and stopped. This month also it is too scanty (no blood but red thread like stuffs are there) but having stomach pain too. For my age and pcos it is normal is what family friend going and family gp told me. But is there any home remedy or ayurveda tonic I can have? My weight is 72 kg and height 5'7".

Hi Lybrate user, get an ultrasonography done to ascertain status of ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes. In case if pcos you might have a picture of scanty periods the way you are having. So take meprate 10 mg twice a day for five days and then stop. You will have full fledged bleeding after a week to ten days. Then from third day of periods start yasmin tablet once a day for 21 days and then stop for seven days. Repeat for six cycles. Also continue taking metformin in the same dosage.
