Hello, I am 27 years and, 30 weeks pregnant. Currently I am on obimet sr 500 mg (morning half and night half) since my parents have diabetes. My gtt results at 18th week is as follows. Fasting blood sugar is 85 mg/dl post glucose 2 hr is 117 mg/dl fasting urine sugar is absent post glucose 2 hr is absent can I stop taking obimet sr 500 mg or continue till my delivery?

No u shouldn't stop it until ur delivery,, consult with ur doctor for this purpose

Usually Obimet is given only when you have diabetes diagnosed by OGTT or if you had PCOS. Usually it is o=not given only when the parents have diabetes. Your OGTT is normal. Therefore, if you did not have PCOS, you can safely stop it now.

Please don't take obimet unless you have deranged sugars which you don't have at the moment. Stop the drug as your ogtt is fine. Get a repeat ogtt at 32-34 weeks and if that's fine no need to take any such drug just because your parents have diabetes.
