The dosing depends upon phase of treatment - initial or maintenance, and also other laboratory parameters. Two things to be kept in mind. 1. It can't be given to someone who is an active drinker. 2. It can't be given without patient's consent.

Dear lybrate-user, disulfiram can not be given to rajesh unless he is willing to take it. He needs to sign a consent form of psychiatrist who educated him on disulfiram - alcohol reaction that can be fatal at times. Rajesh needs to carry a card with him always about his disulfiram intake. It will save his life in case he takes alcohol.
