My daughter is a year and six months old, she has a cough which goes and comes back, she has been coughing for the past one month now, she used antibiotics and antimalarial and after the drug the cough came back, she is presently using coflin syrup and nasal drop still no improvement.

This may be simple allergic cough due to some allergic agent around. Like dust, unclean furnishing, strong odor cosmetics, improper ventilation etc. When there is no fever, breathing difficulty or a wheezing sound during breathing or coughing antibiotics are not required. Antiamalarials cannot be given unless blood test is done and shows malaria. Simple paed cough syrup and saline nasal drops may suffice (avoid medicinal nasal drops. Ayurvedic drops like bresol drops etc should be effective and safe. Take precautionary measures as above. If symptoms worsen or child is restless it is advised to see a child specialist once.
