My baby was diagnosed with iugr at 29 weeks age and there were no problems noticed with placenta, umbilical cord, blood flow etc. If there are no maternal or foetal causes involved, what would be the reason for iugr? Also the foetal weight was 1913 g at the end of 33 weeks. Is this weight normal?

It's slightly on the lesser side. In many cases the exact cause for iugr might not be clear. Let's hope the weight improves from now on. Have regular consults with your gynecologist.

Hi lybrate-user, at 33 weeks of gestation 1900gm is a good weight. Weight of fetuse will increase maximum during last 4 weeks. So your baby will reach more than 2.5 kg during term gestational age. So do not worry.
