Td is a booster dose which gives protection against tetanus n diphtheria, tdap gives protection against tetanus, diphtheria and partusis or whooping cough, soo this is the basic difference, you have to follow what your doctor have advised.

Hi lybrate-user, tdap is a vaccine against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis and some vaccines also protect against polio. Now a days vaccination in pregnancy provides better protection of mother and newborn against these diseases which are quite prevalent in newborns. Tt just protects the newborn from neonatal tetanus. Therefore tdap is better than tt. It should be taken in 3rd trimester ideally 28-32 weeks. I can recommend good tdap vaccines if you are interested. Hope that helps.
