My 2 year 5 months old daughter drank 'pril liquid dishwash'mixed with water yesterday. This happened when she was blowing bubbles with a hollow pen. Then she coughed and vomited the food she ate 1 hour ago. Is pril harmful? Is it a serious matter. Please answer. We took her to the doctor and he advised medicine norvent d, amoxicillin and potassium calvulanate. Yesterday we have given this medicine to her. But today she has no cough .so we stopped the medicine. Please doctor help.

If cough is not there, no need to worry. It's been quite sometime now. If she's not developed any new symptom, you can wait. No need to worry. U may stop antibiotics and norvent. Use gelusil syrup 5 ml twice daily for 3 days.

Hi lybrate-user, no worries as its over 24 hors since incident and might she taken very small amount. No medicine required for that. But becareful should not happen in future.

Its good that you got her reviewed. If she is fine, you can definitely stop the antibiotics. She is at an age, where she will be exploring everything. So try and keep non edible things outside her range and well locked.

The clinical symptoms depends on the quantity of liquid consumed by a child. Small quantities are usually cause less harm. But keep a keen watch on her. Report immediately to an emergency in case of fast breathing or drowsiness.
