Hi lybrate-user, last 2 months would have been very distressing for you due to jock itch and increased humidity of summer. First of all do not use itch guard cream. As it makes the skin sensitive and might lead to irritation. Secondly, do not self treat fungal infection. Most of the times you will need an oral antifungal along with topical antifungal. Self treatment might lead to resistance to drugs as mostly patients take inappropriate dosing. Also, oral antifungals have lots of side effects. Take them under supervision of a dermatologist only. There is no best cream, your treatment will depend on severity of your lesions. Thirdly, itching due to clotrimazole might me due to the itch guard cream you applied, as it makes skin sensitive or you might just be allergic to it. Take proper consultation from your nearby qualified dermatologist. Hope it helps.
