I am 33 year old unmarried lady. I have a complex serous ovarian cyst in my right ovary of size 7 cm or more. I also have hiatus hernia and severe gerd so take omeprazole almost everyday from last two three years as without it I can not function without burning. I am suffering from severe burning that starts from my throat to my upper abdomen area. I wake up with cramps every morning feeling the need to go to pass motion urgently but that doesn't make me feel any better. The cramps and stomach pain continues to exist all through the day. I am unable to ear any solid food. The thought of food is making me feel nauseous. If I try to eat it gives me stomach pain, bloating and weird noises come from my stomach. Even 40 mg omez is not helping me any more. Drinking plain water gives me relief but as long the water is flowing down my gut. I cannot drink ice cold stuff as I suffer from sinusitis/nasal septal spur. What do I do? I am really unable to eat anything and feel so uneasy and bloated up after eating?

This medicine (proton pump inhibitor (ppi).) will not cure problem. It only works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach. The day you do not take medicine normal acid production will be there n you will have symptoms. Do this 1. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U can eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. 2. Don't overeat 3. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, any fresh n seasonal fruit (eat whole fruit not juice), a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. Take simple food like rice n dal in dinner. 6. Maintain active life style7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods, carbonated beverages 8. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. It contains a lot of fiber which will help reduce tendency for constipation 9. Drink lot of water.10. Everyday preferably sleep on same time 11. Take half cup of cold milk when you feel acidity, it will help. Curd is good for u. 12. If its very severe then elevate your bed raising the head of your bed six to eight inches can help gravity keep gastric acid down in your stomach. 13. Take 1tsp of ghee in bfast, lunch n dinner. This is for long term results but for now to bring your digestive system back on track you need to take medicines. For that I need more details, you can consult me. Â

Hello Lybrate user. Hiatus hernia is partly causing your heartburn and nausea. But also an ovarian cyst of 7 cm might be putting pressure on your food pipe, causing all your symptoms. Better get a detailed abdomen and pelvic scan done along with tumour markers and plan further management. Â

You have two major problems which can be effectively tackled. All your stomach problem is due to hiatus hernia. It has to be surgically treated and you will be totally asymptamatic. Second problem is complex ovarian serous cyst. It has to be removed surgically. If you carry out both you will be a very happy lady without any disease. Wish you a comfortable life after this treatment. Â

These symptoms are related to the ovarian tumour. Having such symptoms in presence of large ovarian tumour is not good. Please check blood for CA 125. After that you should go for the surgery.Â
