Hi doctors, I am pcod patient, we are planning for pregnancy ,i.taking medication, after taking medication my pains, hair growth & periods are on time. Now my period date is july 24th, past past week that is from 12 of july, I started getting legs pains, lower abdomen pain, sometime dizziness, for the past two days have even pain on the right side of lower abdomen .after tell this symptoms to my doctor she had asked me to stop using the medicines for two days could it be a symptom of pcod or pregnancy. Please suggest medicines prescribed were myocyst, cabergoline,duphaston, amycordial.

Yes it could be sign of early pregnancy but 1st ectopic pregnancy needs to be ruled out, since she has pain abdomen. Ectopic pregnancy means a pregnancy that is not growing in the uterus, instead in tubes, ovaries etc. You can do serum bhcg. If positive, you need ultrasound to confirm location of pregnancy. Meanwhile stop all medications. Contact hospital immediately if pain increases or if she has bleeding from vagina.

Hello lybrate-user. If your period on july 24th was normal like your earlier cycles, the chances of you being pregnant are less. But if the period was like spotting better to get a pregnancy test done. You can do that at home (velocit or preganews kit) by using kits which are available in any medical shop. If you are not pregnant, then these symptoms are common side effects of duphaston tablet which you are using. So, next time you can change duphaston and try other medication. Hope this helped.

Why cabergoline? I've never heard cabergoline getting prescribed for pcod! plus you should know pcod is the most misdiagnosed condition. Please show me the reports before I can say which medication to stop.

Do a urine pregnancy test. If positve, oofer antenatal care. If negative wait for oe more week. Stiil no periods, use progesterone to produce withdrawel periods.
