I am prescribed monocef 0 100 (5 ml) for my daughter - 2 times a day. My daughter is 3, years and 3 months age. She is very resistant to any type of medicine. Above all monocef tastes very bad. So we give her in parts (1 ml at regular interval of 20 min) so that every ml can get absorbed in the blood stream and we do not kiss the past amount is she throws up. So every time we give her 1 ml, she sips some water to take in so that she doesn't throws up the part. Requesting to suggest if it is ok for her to sip some water with every part of the medicine? She can't drink the medicine without that.

It is not good to give any antibiotics in split doses. Now what you are giving for your child is monocef o which is cefpodoxime proxetil, instead you have a very good alternative that is to give the same cefpodoxime as drops so that the concentration you have to give will be in 1 ml. So quantity each time you have to give will be very less. If you have further queries you can contact the doctor you are consulting.

Hi lybrate-user, its better to add honey in monocef so taste will be good. You should guve 5 ml at once over 10 mins. Not 1 ml evvery 20 mins.
